Look Out Blackhawks!

I was excited to be the one taking Sully to hockey tonight (Andy did have to write down directions for me so I could get all of Sully's gear on). He still loves it and is doing well!

Curiousity!

A couple of weeks ago I bought a membership to the Nature Museum with a Groupon---what a great deal. One year for $30! It was pretty cold over the weekend so the boys and I headed out to activate the membership. The Nature Museum is definitely a great place. It's small and easy to park but there is so much for the kids to do. We went Saturday and Sunday and were lucky enough to have Bec and the kids join us on Sunday as well. We will definitely get our money's worth with this membership!

Charlie the Photographer!

Our weeks are busy with work and school so I have not been taking as many pictures. I looked at my camera and found these photos taken yesterday by Charlie! He did pretty well!

Family Ice Skating!

Laced up and waiting for the Zamboni to clear the ice!

Sully is so fast I can hardly get a photo of him! People at the rink couldn't believe what a good skater he is!

Charlie telling Andy that he can skate by himself! We may soon have two skaters in the house!

We were looking for something to do this afternoon so we finally decided to try one of the city's outdoor ice rinks. Sully was thrilled and it was Charlie's first time on the ice. I was impressed to see that Andy is quite a good skater! We took turns helping Charlie around the rink and trying to catch up with Sully! We will definitely be going back!

To swim, or not to swim?

That's how Charlie feels about swim lessons! He was in the water for about 30 seconds and then sat out for the rest of the time. He decided he wanted to swim as we were going to the locker room to change and then cried until we left. We'll see how it goes next time.

Sully, on the other hand, is a fish! He absolutely loves it. He has been taking lessons on and off since he was 6 months old which probably helps. I may have to do some open swim time with Charlie to get him ready!

Swim Lessons!

(This teacher was with Charlie the whole time when he was in the water along with another little guy)
The boys started swim lessons yesterday. The age range for the class is 3-6 and the parents do not go in the water with the kids. Sully has taken swim lessons on and off since he was 6-months old but this was Charlie's first time. Sully was an old pro and loved the class. Charlie, on the other hand, wasn't too sure. He lasted for about the first half and then was cold and ready to get out. I sat with him for a little bit and then when he saw the noodles, he wanted to get back in. That lasted about 5 minutes and then he was done. We'll keep trying but I think the whole hour is a little too long for him!

A Story for Snuggy!

Me: "Charlie, come here".
Charlie: " I can't. I'm reading a story to Snuggy"!

Skates and Sticks!

getting some tips from one of the coaches

Sully (white shirt) had his first Skates and Sticks class tonight. It's hard to believe how much gear he has to put on. Thank goodness Andy knows how it all works! Charlie and I went to watch for a bit so I could grab some pictures. He did great but it is definitely more of a workout than the Learn to Skate class. So far he seems to really enjoy it!

Waterpark!

at the arcade

getting ready to go home---Sully was sad to leave (so was Charlie but he was able to smile for the picture first!)

We went to Key Lime Cove waterpark yesterday and spent the night. They had a great arcade and both boys won lots of tickets which we cashed in for some trinkets. They had a blast going down the slides, floating in the lazy river, and getting splashed!

To the Top!

We've been to Pump It Up a few times over break and Sully has been working hard to get to the top of the climbing wall. He did it! Enjoy the video.

Museum of Science and Industry!

The boys and I met Bec and the kids at the museum this morning. We started in the kid's area, explored the space exhibit, looked at the circus stuff and had lunch. The boys and I stayed a bit after lunch since I had promised ice cream and it did not open until 11:30! We looked at all the Christmas trees and had our treat. Such a great museum to have close by!

3-year check-up!

I took Charlie today for his well check-up. He got a glowing report!
Here are the stats:
Weight: 29.5 pounds (25-50th percentile)
Height: 36 inches (10-25th percentile)

Just can't get enough!

Yes, another day at Pump It Up! This time we met Bec and the kids for some jump time. It wasn't too crowded and the boys had a blast!

Christmas Morning 2010!

Our tree with lots of presents from Santa! I always put the Christmas cards on the tree so we can look at them during the season!

A white Christmas---the view from our condo

The boys before we started tearing into the presents!

Charlie getting a little help opening a present

We had a nice, relaxing morning at home. As the boys were looking in their stockings, I noticed that Charlie had 2 packages of underwear. Sully admitted to getting up at 3:30 in the morning and he thought Santa had made a mistake. Charlie was supposed to get boxers from Santa for using the potty so he took the boxers out of his stocking and put them in Charlie's stocking and then went back to bed. Santa actually brought both boys a package of underwear!

Looking Back!

Merry Christmas Eve!

We spent Christmas Eve with Grammy and Grampy! The boys enjoyed playing, opening gifts, hanging out with cousins, seeing Uncle Scott, eating Christmas cookies, watching Toy Story 3, and napping (Charlie and Andy :) Then we headed to Tim and Louellen's for dinner, caroling, and visiting with family. Fun was had by all!
