Summer Camp!

Charlie attended summer camp today and Tuesday from 9-12 through our park district.  It was the perfect amount of time and Charlie really seemed to enjoy it.  Today, the parents were invited to come about 10 minutes early for a parade and song for the 4th of July.  They did a great job and Charlie loved showing off the "shaker" he made!

Cousins!

Bec and the kids came for a visit on Monday (and to return Herman!). We went to the park and hung out all morning and then had a picnic lunch.  It was great to see all the kids playing together.  Sully did a great job of watching out for and including Alex.  Hopefully, we will get to do this some more before Honey Bear arrives and summer comes to an end!

Next Stop---Michigan!

After a long day of driving, we arrived at our next destination!  The resort was beautiful and had and indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and beach access!  We were very glad for the indoor pool because it was a little rainy on Thursdday morning.

It cleared up in the afternoon so we headed out for some mini golf!

Then we decided to check out the beach.  It was getting close to dinner time so we just did some wading!

1st Stop---Waterpark!

Andy took the week off so we headed off on a little roadtrip!  Our first stop was two nights at a waterpark!

Charlie was very excited about the waterpark!

checking out the beach (our hotel was right on the beach)---it was a little too chilly for swimming at the beach!

The waterpark was a big hit!  Our room was awesome with a boathouse theme---the boys had a little "cabin" within the room!  It wasn't crowded at all and there was even an arcade.

Hockey Time!

After a few weeks off...it is time for hockey again!  Sully is playing hockey for 2 hours---one hour of practice and one hour of scrimmage.  He will be doing this once a week for the summer.  He was very excited to be back on the ice and was tired and sweaty at the end!

Lovin' Summer!

Charlie still enjoys playing in the sandbox and there is a nice one at our neighborhood park!

This is Sully way too high in the tree!  He is trying to give me a heart attack!

Our summer is off to a great start!  We have been going to the pool, been down to the farm, and just spending lots of time outdoors.  I'm glad we don't have too much going on.  It's nice to not be a slave to the schedule.

Speed Racer!

Charlie loves to "spin out" on his trike!

Two Wheelin'!

We took Sully out for some more practice on his bike.  Andy is doing a great job working with him and teaching him how to stop and how to push off at the beginning.  Sully is loving riding his bike!

Down on the Farm!

Fishing in the creek

The boys and I headed to the farm Monday morning.  We went to visit but also to see Trevor play baseball. The boys (especially Sully) loved being at a baseball game.  We still had  plenty of time to play on the farm, do some fishing, shoot some hoops, and hang out with Abby and Trevor!  It was a great visit!

Sullivan - Bicycle Rider

Daddy Post - Sully riding his bike!

You will have to excuse the lack of formatting, and difference from other posts, but this is my first one.  I took Sully to the school parking lot yesterday, to work with sully to get him riding his bike.  I have to first thank Mike and Jane because they did the hard work the day before with getting him comfortable with the thought of it first.  He was very apprehensive about it at first, very worried about falling over (who wouldn't be).    The was the hardest part of the job was convincing him that falling was no big deal.  He got over it pretty quick.  I had him go in a straight line for a couple times, then on to turning, and then on to braking.  After that he graduated to the big parking lot. Enjoy!!! Please excuse my "too excited daddy drivel".
