Yummy!

Charlie likes his ice cream (along with any other types of sweets)! He ate every last bite of this Drumstick.

New Parks!

Since going to parks is one of the boy's favorite things...we had to scope some out in the new neighborhood. This one is not too far and is AWESOME! There is water, sand, a playground, tons of space to run around, a maze, and tons of benches and swings to relax on. We spent quite a while there today and I'm sure we will be going often!

Work Zone!

Sully wanted to work just like Andy! He got some of the drywall, his tape measure, level, and hammer and got right to it.

Andy cutting the drywall

The hole in the wall is gone and now we just have to do some mudding and taping before we get a new fireplace surround. So far, it is going quite well thanks to Handy Andy!

Enjoying the Last Days of Summer!

I didn't get great shots but we checked out the community pool this morning. This was the tot pool which Charlie loved but Sully has outgrown. I wanted to check out the pool before the end of the season and we will definitely buy a membership next year! There are several pools with waterslides, sprinklers, diving boards, etc.

Finally!

Sully lost his first tooth on Sunday August 14th at Menards! The tooth has been wiggly forever so we were so excited that it finally came out. His permanent tooth had already started to come in behind the tooth so it's not a huge space in his mouth. The Tooth Fairy brought him $2.00 but he would really like her to bring his tooth back!

Where Have We Been?

It has been a very busy and exciting last several weeks!
On July 29th, we moved out of our condo. I took the boys to the park for a while while the movers did their thing!

We stayed with Grammy and Grampy for the weekend and had our final walk-through on Sunday July 31st. Charlie thinks he already owns the place!

The boys and I spent the day in the city on Monday August 1st so Charlie could go to gymnastics and Sully could go to hockey. We hung out at Bec's in between and had dinner with Andy before heading to Poppa and Gramma's. Andy stayed with Bec and Matt since he had to work. Of course, we did some swimming while at Poppa and Gramma's!

We closed on the new house on Wednesday August 3rd and celebrated with Grammy, Grampy, and Uncle Scott. Move-in day was August 4th!

Bye-Bye City!

I had to bribe the boys to get them in the same place at the same time looking somewhat towards the camera. I liked that you could see the Willis Tower in the background!

Yes, I am sad to be leaving the city. Here's what I (we) will miss most...
the awesome parks
the museums
fabulous restaurants
walking everywhere
free stuff for kids
my spinning class on Saturdays
having Aunt Bec and the kids so close
taking public transportation
getting super excited when I get the park district classes I want
all the indoor play spaces for kids
Starbucks on every corner
Fire Stations with firemen we know by name
familiar running routes
Hockey at Johnny's Ice House

I know that we will LOVE living in the burbs, but Andy has been in this condo for 9 years and I have been here for 4. This is the longest I have lived in one house since I graduated college! I'm glad that we will be close enough to still enjoy everything the city has to offer!

The Day Before the Move!

Yesterday, we met Bec and the kids at an indoor play place and then went to lunch. This is all of the kids taking a silly picture.

Before dinner, Andy needed to go into the office to fax something so we headed to one of our favorite parks. It was very humid but it was great to get out of the house. Almost everything is packed including the toys!

School Physical!

I took Sully for his school physical today. It went well and he didn't need any shots!
Here are the stats:
Weight: 39 pounds (5th percentile)
Height: 42.5 inches (<5th percentile)
BMI: 15.2

The doctor was pleased with Sully's growth, blood pressure, and body mass index!

Summertime!

Playing at the park before it get too hot!

Charlie Bear staying cool!

Sully coming up for air and Andy staying cool!

Snack time!

This is how we spend our time in the summer!

Cool at the Pool!

We have been going swimming every Tuesday this summer at Gramma and Poppa's house. Sully and Charlie are both fish in the water. This week was no exception and due to the extreme heat we made it a 12-hour day! Anyone that knows us, realizes that we are early birds. We were on the road by 7 a.m. and got back home at 7 p.m. I can't think of anywhere I would rather spend such a hot day!

Hanging Out!

Sully has gymnastics for an hour on Fridays so Charlie and I hang out on the playground while we wait for him. It was hot today, so Charlie decided to try out the sprinkler.

Of course, he needed a snack too!

Library Time!

Both of the boys are participating in the summer reading program at the library. We have a nice, new library that we can walk to from our house. We go each week so the kids can check in with the librarian and talk about the books they are reading. Andy and I are enjoying checking out books as well!

SWIM-tastic!

Poppa had a painting project all ready for the boys. He said that it was practice for painting their new rooms!

Washing the brushes and cleaning up!

A few more...

This is the lofted area which is attached to our master suite. For those of you who were curious, this will probably be our office/craft space! It overlooks the living room but you really can't see it from down below.

The master bedroom is huge and a lovely purple color (can you hear the sarcasm?).

This area goes from the master bath to the bedroom. It basically connects the two areas. There is also a door to the bedroom from the hallway so you don't have to go through the bathroom to get to the bedroom.

For all of you that know me well and have ever been to our house, you can only imagine how much I can't wait to see this house with out all the "stuff" in it. I am also having dreams about painting and scrubbing every room! The amount of clutter astounds me!
