Candy Land!

Sully received this Candy Land game a couple of years ago. We used it all the time and then put it away because Sully was playing "real" Candyland and Charlie wasn't ready for it yet. We decided to pull it out the other day and it was a big hit. Sully enjoyed teaching his little brother how to play and Charlie was doing great with his matching, colors, and shapes!

Barefoot in the Park!

On Friday, the sun was shining and the boys wanted to get wet. We headed to a nearby park, ready for some sprinkler action. We really like this park---it's newer, has a nice soft surface, sprinkler, good climbing equipment, a nice grassy space, and it's within walking distance! I'm sure we will be heading back soon!

My Tired Guys!

loaded up and ready to head back home from Lake Geneva...

...about 20 minutes into the ride!

It was a nice, quiet ride home!

Andy needed to do some computer work at his boss' house in Lake Geneva so the boys and I tagged along! It turned out to be a beautiful day to enjoy the pool. The boys had a blast!

Swim Day!

Trevor, Sully, and Gramma

Gramma and Charlie

Sully got a couple of splinters which I was able to successfully remove with a pair of tweezers!

The boys and I headed out to my parents on Tuesday for a swim day. Laura and Trevor joined us as well (Abby is at camp this week). The day started out a little overcast but the afternoon was great and HOT, HOT, HOT! Sully is working on swimming without his float and is doing really well!

Charlie---version 2.5!

Today was Charlie's 2 1/2 year check-up so here are the stats...
Weight: 29.5 pounds (50th percentile)
Height: 35 inches (25th percentile)
Head circumference: 19 7/8 (75th-90th percentile)

Everything looks great and he was a champ for his one shot. He does have an ear infection in one ear. She thinks it's still the same ear infection from a few weeks ago and it just didn't clear up. Either way, he will have 5 days of meds and go back in a few weeks for a recheck.

Happy Father's Day!

We celebrated Father's Day at my parents today. After having a relaxing morning at home, we headed out there for swimming and lunch.

After dinner, we went on a little walk and spent some time playing at a nearby school playground.

All three boys were practicing their gymnastics moves on the parallel bars!

Summer Days!

Summer is here and today is a beautiful day. The boys and I went to hang out at the park while Andy did some work at the office. Charlie headed straight for the sprinkler while Sully climbed on the tree branch that had fallen down in the storm. This is our neighborhood park so you will be seeing lots of photos from here this summer!

Sully's New Glasses!

Sully got his glasses today! He had failed the eye exam at school so we took him for a full eye exam. The vision in his left eye is near perfect but his right eye is pretty bad. He could not see the big E on the eye chart and things are mostly fuzzy at this point. It is called Amblyopia (lazy eye) but you can not tell just by looking at him. The hard part is that at this point the glasses really don't help him see any better because we have to retrain his eye. It is a little confusing but this article explains it pretty well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amblyopia

We will start doing some patching and are going to follow up with a Pediatric Opthamologist at Children's hospital in July. Sully is very excited about his new glasses! He looks absolutely adorable in them!

Agnes!

Summer vacation has officially started so Wednesday was Agnes' last day. She has been our nanny for this school year and the boys absolutely love her. Thanks for a great year Aggy!

A Camping We Will Go!

We went camping Saturday to Sunday. This was our second time (once last year and this trip). We are definitely learning as we go and deciding what we like and don't like about the campgrounds. We are planning on going again this year, hopefully for 2 nights next time.

Pros:
about an hour car ride
fun stuff for the kids to do...hayride, beach, playground
drive in site
water on site
beach and a pool

Cons:
sites were a little too close to each other
lots of permanent residences on site
the "Jerry Springer" like episode at 2 a.m. right next to us!

"Old School" Parks

The last few days have been absolutely beautiful...

We went to a couple of older parks in the neighborhood. They may not have all the bells and whistles of the newer parks but it didn't see to stop the boys from having a great time...and Andy too!

Sully has been working on his tree climbing skills!

You can't beat a good game of chase!

Tool Time!

Well, I love these pajamas and they only have them in three prints, so the boys have matching pajamas! I admit, I think it's adorable and I had to get their picture together. Charlie even has a matching hammer!

Downtown!

Monday afternoon we decided to go downtown to do a little browsing. We hopped on the bus and went right to Michigan Avenue. After a little looking around, we decided to celebrate my birthday one more time with dinner at Ron of Japan. We definitely ate well over the weekend and I had a great 35th birthday weekend!
