Sunny Days!

It was so beautiful this weekend and I snapped a ton of pictures. We are definitely excited about "park season!" This park is within walking distance of our place and was redone recently so we go there a lot.

Monkey Bars!!!

He has been practicing every time we go to the park and I'm sure at recess as well. You can see that his hard work has paid off! Way to go Sully!

Summer is here!

Andy and I went out to dinner Saturday to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. Bec came over to watch the boys and took this picture for us.

Summer weather was here in full force this weekend with temperatures in the 90's. We met friends for breakfast on Sunday and then went to play at the park. We were all sweating by 10 a.m. and the kids all had red cheeks!

Sunday after naptime, we headed to my parents for the first swim of the summer! Since it has been warm all week the pool heated up quickly and felt great!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Sunday was nice and hot so we headed to Grammy and Grampy's in the afternoon to go to the beach and cook out. The water isn't quite warm enough, but the kids loved playing in the sand and in the backyard. What a beautiful day!

Gym Time!

These were taken last Monday at open gym. We are usually the first ones there since Sully gets out of school at 2:45 and open play starts at 3. Gymboree has worked out really well for us over the past three years!

Special Event!

On Friday, Gymboree had a special open gym. It was Corduroy day! They read the story and were able to make bookmarks in the art room. Sully and Olivia were really interested in doing that while Alex and Charlie continued to play in the gym. It was a great time!

Wide Open Space!

One of the highlights of the weekend was going to the forest preserve and having all that great space for the boys! We brought Sully's bike and he loved the bike path. I would let him get ahead and then run and catch up. I'm not sure who got the better workout.

Charlie strolled with Poppa and Gramma but also did quite a bit of running along the path. I'm not sure who was more worn out...Poppa or Charlie! They both took a 2 1/2 hour nap on Saturday!

Next time we'll have to bring Sully's fishing pole. I forgot that he could fish here and he has been dying to try out the pole Uncle Scott gave him!

We don't get quite this much nature in the city so it was a nice change of scenery! Thanks for a great weekend Mom and Dad!

Busy Week!

Last week just seemed busy so sorry for the lack of posts!

As long as I've lived here, I have never seen any kind of bird land on the windowsill. This pigeon took an interest while Charlie and I were having lunch!

Andy went to his brother Scott's college graduation this weekend so the boys and I headed to Gramma and Poppa's house. We went to one of my favorite places...Walt's Ice Cream Shop!!! As you can tell from Charlie's "excited" face, it was fabulous!

A Day to Celebrate!

We got together with my parents and sisters today to celebrate Mother's Day!



After a fabulous breakfast, we went to a park to burn off some energy. Sully loves to hang out with his cousin Abby!

Sully is close in age to a couple of the neighbors who also let him play with their toys when we are visiting. This race car is a big hit!

Who Knew?

Who knew that zipper pulls could be so fascinating?! Olivia discovered that Charlie's zipper pull was a bear and couldn't help zipping and unzipping it!

The Greedy Python!

Yes, that is a python! We were out enjoying the afternoon yesterday and our neighbor called us over to see this pet snake. All I could think of was "The Greedy Python" by Eric Carle where the snake eats everything in sight! The boys were intrigued and of course Charlie has no fear!

Spring has Sprung!

The last few days have been absolutely beautiful! We have enjoyed walking around the city and going to the park with the kids. Sully and Charlie even befriended this little girl at the park and had a great time playing hide-and-seek and tag!

We went to the museum Saturday afternoon. We didn't realize they closed at 4 so it was a quick trip! We did get to look at all the trains, see a weather exhibit, explore space, see baby chicks, and look at the farm equipment. Not too bad for an hour!

The Great Outdoors!

We are loving the warmer weather! Park season is definitely here. We can't wait to make our rounds to the many, many parks here in the city!
