Hunting for Eggs!

The Easter Bunny hid about 150 plastic eggs outside at our house. Olivia was sick, so Matt brought Alex and Pippa. Grammy, Grampy, and Scott joined us for brunch and egg-citement afterwards!  Each of the kids had an assigned egg color and then there were lots of "bonus" eggs for anyone to find.  A few of the eggs were found by little critters (squirrels, skunks, birds...) first!  The boys had a blast and made sure to find all of Olivia's pink eggs as well.  They didn't even try to take her goodies.  The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the time outside visiting and getting some sunshine.  What a great Easter!

Happy Easter!

The bunny was good to the boys this year!  They had lots of eggs to find and plenty of goodies in their baskets. Charlie was super excited to get a Bey Blade and Sully got some street hockey pucks for outside.  It's fun to watch them get so excited!

Eggs to DYE for!

It's  a family tradition to dye eggs and leave them for the Easter Bunny to hide.  The boys love creating their eggs and mixing as many colors as possible.  They turned out great!

Call of the Wild!

We had a perfect, sunny day to enjoy the zoo!  The boys and I met Andy after work for some lunch and then headed over to the zoo.  Many of the animals were enjoying the nice weather outside as well.  The boys  also got to collect some more souvenir pennies.  Their cousin Trevor got them hooked on this during the trip to the museum earlier this week.

Yes, it is SPRING!

We refuse to let this crummy weather ruin spring break.  We took our first ride of the season and went to the park for some swinging, climbing, and football.  Although it is a little chilly, it was a good warm up for everyone!

Open Gym!

Today we met some friends at the local gymnastics studio for some open gym time.  The boys enjoyed jumping, flipping, balancing, and playing with their buddies.  Charlie is definitely a little monkey!

At the Museum!

Laura and the kids came up for a little visit since we have the same spring break this year.  We hung out around the house on Monday and did some browsing at the the bookstore.  Tuesday we headed to the museum and met Poppa there.  The kids had a great time looking at the weather exhibit, seeing the trains and airplanes, and watching the Omnimax movie.  The big hit was making souvenir pennies!  Trevor has been collecting for a while and came prepared to add to his collection.  He got my boys hooked so I'm sure we'll be on the lookout everywhere we go!

Go Stingers!

The season is over for Sully.  His team did well in the playoffs but did not make it to the championships. The last game was very excited and ended on a high note for both teams with a tie!  Sully will have about 2 weeks off and then he will be doing a weekly stickhandling clinic and a 3-on-3 game each week.  He seems to really enjoy hockey!

Playoffs!

Playoffs for hockey started last night.  Sully's team lost the first game and then won today.  Sully got to be the goalie for this morning's game.

Here he is in full goalie gear!

The team piles on the goalie at the end!  Yes, Sully survived the winning pile-up!

Finally!

Before...

After...

After almost 3 months of construction (not including having a new drain tile system put in), the basement is FINISHED!  We have a great "theater" area and plenty of play space for the boys.  The TV and surround sound are great for movie night.  I am happy to have my house back and free of construction dust!
