Memorable Monday: Getting ready for Charlie!

This picture was taken on October 25, 2007. Sully was a little over 2 1/2. He was helping us to get ready for Charlie!

Play by Play!

Sully is totally into football this season. This video captures him going through the games play by play. Watch out Jay Cutler!

Sooooo Bare!

The landscapers have been here for the last three days just pulling everything out of the yard. It's quite bare but a big improvement.

The side by the driveway---now that it's trimmed and cleaned out, it should grow back nicely in the spring!

We can actually see our neighbors now!

I had no idea how big this side part of the yard was!

The front view.

I am looking forward to seeing the finished yard all cleaned up---stay tuned!

Making Progress!

the remains of some type of brick wall on the side of the house!

bushes by the front door...gone!

We were amazed when the landscaping crew showed up to start work today in the rain. They worked from about 7:45-4:00 today and took out a ton of stuff. It's a bit of a mess but I am excited to see the finished product. The best part is having the two huge bushed by the front door removed!

Smiley!

Monday was Charlie's first official field trip. He went on a bus to the pumpkin farm. It was sunny but very chilly. He was dressed plenty warm and had a great time. I love that smile!

Overgrown!

Our yard is completely overgrown and Andy and I have decided we need to do something about it sooner rather than later.

The plan is basically to remove everything so that we have a nice clean slate come spring. Then we can think about planting.

The landscapers are going to redefine the shape, mulch, and sod where needed. They will also trim the whole perimeter of the yard.

The poison ivy growing in this spot (as well as many others) will be gone as well! Check back this week for some "after" pictures!

Brotherly Love!

They decided to camp out in the toy box!

They actually built all of this together! It didn't get wrecked, there were no tears, and NO fighting! An amazing feat these days!

I love moments like these!

Neighborhood Festival!

Our neighborhood had a fall festival this afternoon. We invited Bec and crew to join us. There were games for the kids.

O enjoyed pumpkin bowling!

We also had dinner and enjoyed treats from the bakery sale!

A festival just isn't complete without some sort of face/body painting!

Andy and I are so happy to have moved into a neighborhood like this!

Blast from the Past! October 2007

Sully and I went to Michigan with my family for the day in October 2007. It ended up being super warm so the kids went swimming. I couldn't help but post these---the kids are just too adorable! Sully 2 1/2, Trevor 8, Abby 6

Sunshine!

It has been raining on and off all week. It was nice to not only have a break from the rain but to actually see the sun and blue skies! The boys and I enjoyed some park time before heading home to Andy and dinner. The boys love the new playground at school.

Super Fast!

This is Sully's 2nd time skating in the new "hood." He is still loving it and there is a kid from school in his class too. They skate on a small practice rink which is a bit of an adjustment but it won't be long before he is back on a bug rink!

The New Playground!

We got a new playground at my school so I took Charlie to check it out. It has a couple of slides, monkey bars, a climbing wall, and lots more. He had a blast trying out all the equipment. My school is close to our house so I'm sure we will be going often!

Yay for Footie Pajamas!

Sully and Charlie both got footie pajamas today. I can not believe how excited Sully was. He even tried them on over his clothes to show everyone. Here he is sporting them for the first time---I think he's pretty excited to go to bed. He is loving sports these days so these are perfect for him!

Suburban Life!

A perk of suburban life is having a driveway, with a hose so you can wash the car! The boys thought this was awesome!

Last Weekend!

Last weekend we needed to go to the city to do some stuff so we met up with Bec, Matt and the kids. This is one of our favorite parks so it was nice to go back. The kids had a great time playing and I enjoyed catching up with Bec. It is always crazy when school starts and when you add in moving, it has been super busy!

Labor Day!

We celebrated Labor Day with a cookout at Grammy and Grampy's. Sully wanted to do a scavenger hunt so we created a scavenger hunt complete with lists, baggies, and certificates of completion for all the kids.

Grampy jumped right in to help the kids with the scavenger hunt.

Sully took it very seriously!

Charlie having a good time!

It was a great way to celebrate the unofficial end of summer!

Construction Zone!

My camera was being a little finicky and I realized today that this is the only picture I have from all of our hard work yesterday. My parents came up for the day and spent the night. We got a ton done!
1. Both boys have new bedroom doors
2. Both boys have new closet doors
3. The "island" has been demolished
4. Prep work for painting has begun

It was a busy day, but thanks to my parents, a very productive one!
